"The sale of tickets for Aeroflot's own flights to and from Kazakhstan, scheduled for January 20, 2022 (departures from Russia), and January 21, 2022 (departures from Kazakhstan) has been temporarily suspended," the message says.

The air carrier also noted that it is in constant operational interaction with the Federal Air Transport Agency and the Russian Foreign Ministry on the restoration of air transportation.

Earlier it was reported that the airport in the Kazakh city of Alma-Ata was closed indefinitely amid the unrest in the country.

Aircraft of the Russian Ministry of Defense will fly from Alma-Ata to Ivanovo and Orenburg to deliver Russians home.
