Ile-de-France residents will be able to choose the design of the future T1.

By launching a public consultation, Ile-de-France Mobilités is asking them for their opinion on the design of future trams for the line that goes from Noisy-le-Sec (Seine-Saint-Denis) to Asnières (Hauts-de-Seine) .

An initiative already tested for the design of the new metro lines 15, 16, 17 and 18, as well as the RER B.

From this Friday until January 21, those who wish can go to the Ile-de-France Mobilités website and vote for their favorite design among the three models on offer.

They have the choice between a so-called “reassuring” tram, with a design that resembles that of the existing lines, a brighter tram, with a plain white front, and a last, adorned with a blue line.

Trainsets in service since 1992

Ile-de-France Mobilités has placed an order for 120 trams in order to continue the modernization of line T1 and replace trains in service, for some, since 1992. The entry into service of the new trams is scheduled for 2024.

Designed in a 95% recyclable material, this new tram is more comfortable.

It will have a transport capacity 15% greater than that of current trains, easier access for people with reduced mobility and will be equipped with lighting with LEDs only, “to improve the atmosphere of the journey”, specifies Ile-de- France Mobilities.
