He gave up on his press conference, but not to speak.

After the frontal tackle of Joe Biden during a solemn speech marking the first anniversary of the attack on the Capitol, Donald Trump responded by press releases.

He denounced the “political theater” of his successor, repeating his unfounded accusations of a “rigged election”.

Joe Biden "used my name to try to divide America even further," said Donald Trump.

"This political theater only distracts from the fact that Biden completely and utterly failed."

"Democrats want to use this January 6 day to instill fear and divide America," he added.

Donald Trump did not give a press conference but, via a press release, accuses Biden and the Democrats of having "tried to stop the peaceful transfer of power with a rigged election".

“Seeing Biden speak was very hurtful to a lot of people.

They (the Democrats) are the ones who tried to stop the peaceful transfer of power with a rigged election, ”the Republican continued, concluding:“ Never forget the crime of the 2020 presidential election. Never give up ”

Dick Cheney criticizes his own

Almost all Republicans have chosen to ignore commemoration ceremonies, including their Senate boss, Mitch McConnell, who ruled last year that Donald Trump had "incited" the crowd to attack Capitol. Only Liz Cheney, who co-chaired the Parliamentary Inquiry Committee, and her father Dick Cheney, attended a speech by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. On ABC, the former vice-president of George W. Bush said he was "disappointed" by the attitude of Republicans who choose to propagate the "big lie" of Donald Trump.

In a speech of rare gravity to mark the first anniversary of the attack on the Capitol, Joe Biden accused Donald Trump, without ever naming him, of having "created and spread a web of lies" by claiming that the victory of the Democrat in November 2020 was tainted with fraud, which has never been proven.

Joe Biden accused his predecessor of having "tried to prevent a peaceful transfer of power" during the "armed insurgency" of January 6, 2021, when hundreds of Republican supporters violently stormed Congress to prevent elected officials to certify the victory of the Democrat.
