At present, more than 1,000 scientific research projects have been included in the China Space Station support implementation plan.

After the completion of the on-orbit construction, it will also carry out application exploration in diversified space and earth round-trip transportation, load carrying, small satellite deployment, open sharing of experimental cabinets, and data use to promote the improvement of low-cost space access capabilities and the continuous development of manned spaceflight.

  Chen Shanguang, a member of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and deputy chief designer of China's manned space project, said at the Fifth Session of the 13th Beijing CPPCC.

  He said that with the goal of building a national space laboratory in an all-round way, the China Space Station has conducted systematic and long-term research in the fields of space life science and human research, microgravity physical science, space astronomy and earth science, and new space technologies and applications. The plan is aimed at the international frontier level, and it is planned to support the development of more than 1,000 scientific research projects, comprehensively promote the innovative development of space science, space technology and space applications, and lead the strengthening of national scientific and technological innovation capabilities.

  Most major national aerospace projects such as China's manned spaceflight, Beidou, and the lunar exploration project, as well as the main scientific and technological forces, are mostly deployed in Beijing. Beijing should make use of its unique location advantages and give play to the traction of major national projects to help build the capital's international science and technology innovation center.

Chen Shanguang said that China’s space station science and application development plan and project guidelines will be released soon, and multi-channel co-financing is particularly welcome and encouraged. Beijing can further strengthen its contact with manned space management departments, jointly establish relevant scientific research funds, and take advantage of the space station platform’s characteristics. Obtain disruptive technological breakthroughs and major original achievements in the direction of superior areas.

  With continuous breakthroughs in China's manned space technology and the subsequent implementation of space science and application engineering, a large number of innovative results can be transferred to the fields of public health, materials, energy, communications and information, and promote the rapid development of related industries.

For example, technologies such as spatial stem cells and regenerative medicine, synthetic biological manufacturing, and combating spatial bone loss and muscle atrophy can transform and develop new biomedical technologies and products to solve important problems related to people's health.

He suggested that Beijing should seize the opportunity and take the lead in building a demonstration park for accelerating the formation of space technology industry transformation, accelerating the transformation and application of aerospace technology and space science achievements, and pushing Beijing's technological innovation and development to a new level.

  At present, commercial aerospace has received widespread attention at home and abroad. Beijing has initially formed a new industrial pattern of "South Arrow and North Star", and the site is located in Anding Town, Daxing District, in the southern part of Beijing to build a Beijing Commercial Aerospace Industry Base.

Chen Shanguang pointed out that the follow-up of the China Space Station project will explore applications in diversified round-trip transportation, load carrying, deployment of small satellites, open sharing of experimental cabinets, and data use.

Therefore, he suggested that Beijing seize the opportunity, vigorously cultivate and support relevant commercial aerospace companies, help the commercial aerospace industry to develop in a healthy, orderly and rapid manner, and promote the improvement of low-cost access to space and the sustainable development of manned spaceflight.

  In addition, Chen Shanguang believes that Beijing should combine the advantages of the Capital Science and Technology Museum and laboratories to build an integrated science education system with the manned space station, carry out various forms of science education activities, and continuously improve the innovation awareness and scientific literacy of Beijing citizens.
