Fredrika Menninga reckons that she has been to the emergency room twice a month - during ovulation and in connection with menstruation.

- I could fall apart in pain and faint, she says.

The help from Swedish healthcare has been inadequate, according to Fredrika Menninga.

For a long time, she has therefore collected tens of thousands of kronor to be able to seek care abroad.

Diagnosed in Romania

This summer she went to a specialist team in Romania.

There the doctors found endometriosis and Fredrika was booked in for surgery.

A short time later, she underwent surgery.

- It feels very nice to have received a diagnosis.

At home it was said that my pain was not real.

In the clip, Fredrika tells more about the dissatisfaction with Swedish healthcare and about the decision to go to Romania.

After the operation

When SVT talks to Fredrika in December, she has just experienced an ovulation where she did not have to go to the emergency room.

Now she dares to hope that the operation still helped.

Fredrika Menninga has also received a call to the endometriosis team in Malmö.

She experiences a change in the treatment from the health care after she can show the paper that she has a diagnosis.

- They take my pain more seriously now.

It feels so nice, she says.

The chief physician about Fredrika's case

SVT Nyheter Skåne has shown Fredrik's journal from Romania to chief physician Said Makari at the endometriosis center Skåne's University Hospital.

He does not want to comment on individual cases but says that he has no reason to distrust the doctor's decision.

- If you have received a diagnosis, we have no reason not to trust a colleague who confirmed the diagnosis with a microscopic examination.

Now I encourage her to come to us and bring her documents from there so that we can continue here, says Said Makari.
