"To prohibit the sale of weapons, ammunition, explosives, special means, poisonous substances, to establish a special regime for the circulation of drugs, narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, precursors, as well as ethyl alcohol, alcoholic beverages," the decree of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev says.
Also, in these regions of the country during the emergency, weapons and ammunition will be confiscated from individuals, and military and training military equipment will also be confiscated from legal entities.
The chiefs of the police departments of these regions were appointed commandants of Alma-Ata and the Mangistau region for the duration of the emergency.
Earlier, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev introduced a state of emergency in Almaty and the Mangistau region amid protests over an increase in the cost of liquefied gas.
