Monfils, N.1 French, is due to start his season this week at the ATP tournament in Adelaide before taking part in the Australian Open.
He had finished the year 2021 on a package in full Masters 1000 of Paris due to a muscle injury to the adductors.
Not unhappy to leave behind a "horrible year", he displayed his desire to reach "the top" in 2022, "with big entry results".
