The Palestinian Prisoners Affairs Authority confirmed the deterioration of the health of the prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash, who continues his hunger strike for the 140th consecutive day, amid warnings by the Palestinian factions of the occupation not to harm the prisoner’s life.
The authority explained that Abu Hawash is in a serious condition and approaches death every minute, and that doctors at the Israeli "Asaf Harofeh" hospital south of Tel Aviv are talking clearly about the possibility of his sudden death.
The authority also indicated that Abu Hawash - who was arrested by Israel on October 27, 2020, and transferred to administrative detention - was subjected to intermittent coma, inability to speak, in addition to heart muscle problems and muscle atrophy.
Al-Jazeera correspondent Guevara Al-Budairi stated that the Israeli security forces closed the entrances to the hospital after expelling the media, including Al-Jazeera.

The Palestinian factions renewed their warnings against harming the life of the prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash, and demanded - during a protest pause in front of the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Gaza - international organizations and human rights institutions to intervene to save Abu Hawash's life before it is too late.
In the West Bank, the Palestinian government on Monday held Israel "full responsibility" for the life of Palestinian detainee Abu Hawash.
Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh said - at the beginning of a session of the Palestinian government - "We are following with great interest the critical health condition of prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash, who continues his hunger strike for the 140th day."
The Palestinian government sent letters to international and human rights bodies and institutions to put pressure on Israel to release him quickly, according to Muhammad Shtayyeh, who said, "We hold the occupation authorities fully responsible for his life."

The Palestinian territories in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip are witnessing demonstrations and sit-ins in solidarity with Abu Hawash, who started his hunger strike since last August.
According to the Palestinian Prisoners Club, this strike is the longest of its kind among the detainees.
"He is the first Palestinian prisoner to go through this kind of continuous strike without any support or salt," club spokeswoman Amani Fararneh told AFP.
Lawyers working with the Prisoner Club expressed their fear of the possibility of a "sudden death" due to Abu Hawash's poor health condition.
The Israeli occupation holds Palestinian detainees in administrative detention from 3 to 6 months, subject to renewal, sometimes without bringing any charges, and without referring them to trial, on the pretext that "their file is confidential."
The head of the Palestinian Prisoners Club, Qaddoura Fares, said today, Monday, that "the detainee Hisham Abu Hawash is fighting his battle on behalf of the entire Palestinian people in the face of the policy of administrative detention, and not for the sake of his personal freedom only," noting that there are 500 detainees in administrative detention.
Israel detains in its prisons about 4,600 Palestinians, including minors and women, including detainees who were arrested before the signing of the peace agreement between it and the Palestine Liberation Organization in 1993.
