During the past months of its life, the largest international event was visited by leaders and eminent personalities from all over the world, and their praise of "Expo 2020" emerged, as they described it as a "beacon of global optimism" and an "unbelievable achievement", highlighting the "vision" that The event adopted it, and how it sent a "spirit full of hope and a sense of dignity" in the world, as well as a "ray of light".

Expo 2020 Dubai continues to bring the world together in the midst of difficult times, with the continuing need to withstand the global pandemic, and to demonstrate our need for our international community to continue to unite, now more than ever.

Expo 2020 Dubai is witnessing a defining moment by hosting the Global Goals Week, which is being organized for the first time ever outside the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

It is held from January 15 to 22, and revives the Sustainable Development Goals, as efforts continue to accelerate to create a better, fairer and just world by 2030.

The Global Goals Week will be the seventh in the series of thematic weeks for the Human and Planet Earth Program at Expo 2020, which contributes to advancing positive action and basic cooperation among the peoples of the world, which embodies the slogan of “Expo 2020 Dubai”, and its goal of “Connecting Minds and Creating the Future.” .

Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed, said: “At a time when I found a dark cloud, you provided a real vision of what we can do to recover better, to see how the world can look outside the borders of the UAE, that is, outside your region, to this international community.

You have instilled a spirit of hope and a sense of dignity in everyone who participated in this edition of (Expo).”

For his part, the President of the Republic of Seychelles, Wavil Ramkallawan, stressed that “(Expo 2020) represents a beacon of global optimism, of responsible and sustainable global growth, of the peoples of the world who stand together against adversity, of individual and collective creativity, of the beauty of unique human harmony, and most importantly, a beacon of of friendship, connection, and recognition that, when it comes to creating a healthy future for the planet, we all come together to make it happen, from the largest country to the smallest.”

The King of Sweden, King Carl XVI Gustaf, said: “Expo 2020 gives us the possibility to develop innovative solutions that are not only in the interest of our country, but also in the interest of the global market and the world at large.

It is a real opportunity for co-creation and innovation.”

He added, "I am confident that the partnership that we concluded here at (Expo 2020) will enhance cooperation between Sweden, the UAE and the countries of the world, and that together we will be able to devise new ideas and solutions."

For his part, the King of Lesotho, King Letsie III said: “I am sure that (Expo 2020 Dubai) will succeed in its noble mission of (Connecting Minds), and as a result of this achievement an incubator will be established that will produce sustainable solutions to our common problems.

Solutions that we hope will create a more prosperous and peaceful future for all of us.”

Hosting the most prominent global forum, during the period of the epidemic, was not an easy task, despite that, "Expo 2020 Dubai" was praised by world leaders, for welcoming the world in a safe and responsible manner.

As for the President of the Republic of France, Emmanuel Macron, he said: “We are very pleased to be at (Expo 2020), and I would like to congratulate the United Arab Emirates on this version of (International Expo), because at a time when we are witnessing the (Covid-19) pandemic, many Among the threats and problems, the organization of the World Expo here and its success is beneficial to your country, as well as beneficial to all.”

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations "ASEAN", Dato Lim Guk Hui, congratulated the United Arab Emirates on its success in bringing the international community together in Dubai, explaining that "the UAE has demonstrated by bringing the world together in the most difficult times, Its leadership as a driving force for cooperation and unity at the international level, which is consistent with (Expo 2020), represented by the slogan (Connecting Minds, Creating the Future).”

While the President of the Swiss Confederation, Federal Chancellor Guy Parmelin, described organizing such a major event as an outstanding achievement at any time, adding: "But to succeed in organizing it during a period of uncertainty, such as the past 18 months, is an incredible achievement."

For his part, the President of the Republic of Senegal, Macky Sall, said: “Our world has plunged into an economic darkness, and certainly needs this ray of light in order to regain part of its vitality and help revive hope for a better future.

From this standpoint, the International Expo represents a showcase of peoples, and a factor in spreading peace and promoting dialogue between cultures and civilizations... and this is what Expo 2020 is all about.”
