Gullsjöreviret spreads across the border between Gävleborg and Dalarna.

Six wolves may be shot in the territory during the license hunt.

- Just recently, one of the hunting dogs ran past here and barked, says Bert Eriksson who is a nature conservationist at the County Administrative Board of Dalarna.

- It looks good as there has been a lot of fresh snow today so the tracks are fresh.

Bert's task during the wolf hunt is, among other things, to coordinate the hunt and inspect wolves that are shot.

- We will also ensure that no wolf from adjacent territories enters the Gullsjöre district.

It is this territory that should be pushed away and then you do not want to bring other wolves.

Hunting that evokes reactions

The wolf hunt provokes reactions, both among individuals and organizations.

For example, the World Wide Fund for Nature wants the license hunt to be tried in the European Court of Justice.

None of the hunters who hunt in Gullsjöreviret want to be in an interview or be in the picture, because the question of hunting wolves is so sensitive.

The hunt lasts no longer than 15 February or when the county administrative board interrupts it.
