Israeli health officials have warned that COVID-19 omicron mutations could explode.

Dr. Eran Segal of the Weitzmann Institute, a government advisory member of the COVID-19 government, fears that the cumulative number of infections could reach 2 to 4 million within this month.

Dr. Siegel said, "Like other countries, an explosive spread can happen in Israel."

The cumulative number of confirmed cases in Israel is approaching 1.4 million.

Local media reported that the number of daily new confirmed cases has more than quadrupled in the past ten days.

Israel, which performed the first and second doses at the fastest rate in the world at the beginning of the spread of the COVID-19 vaccine, introduced the world's first third dose in July.

With a population of about 9.4 million people, the completion rate of two or more vaccinations is about 60%.

Health authorities have recently approved the 2nd booster shot and 4th vaccination for immunocompromised and elderly people after the outbreak of Omicron.
