The French professional football club Paris Saint-Germain announced yesterday (2nd) that four people including Lionel Messi, a member of the club, were confirmed positive for Corona 19 at local time.
Messi contracted COVID-19 while on vacation in his hometown of Rosario, Argentina.
PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino said Messi and PSG's medical team are still in contact and will return to France if he tests negative.
As a result, Messi will not play in tomorrow's FA Cup, the Coupe de France.
Pochettino added that it is not known whether Messi will also miss the Ligue 1 match in Lyon on the 9th.
Along with Messi, three other PSG players, including Juan Bernat, Sergio Rico and Natan Vitumazala, have also been infected with Corona 19.
PSG said the players are currently in quarantine and are following quarantine rules.
