A forty-something won more than 200,000 euros on New Year's Day by playing at the casino of Saint-Malo (Ille-et-Vilaine) after having bet 80 cents in a slot machine, said Sunday the director of the establishment at AFP.
The year 2022 is off to a good start for a 40-year-old from the department of Ille-et-Vilaine, in Brittany.
On New Year's Day, after a game at the Saint-Malo casino, she won more than 200,000 euros.
"This is a person new to gaming and slot machines, who was on vacation and accompanied his mother. She won 209,715.20 euros, it is the second biggest jackpot of the establishment since l 'opening of slot machines 30 years ago ", explained the director of the Barrière casino, François-Stéphane Vergne.
A previous winner in 2011
After a bet of 80 cents on Saturday around 5:00 p.m., the machine, which takes the form of a large screen, doubled the winnings, paying bonuses, before reaching the final six-figure sum.
"Often people do not realize what is happening to them. She was a little surprised, we isolated her and offered her a small glass of champagne," added Mr. Vergne.
In 2011, a player won the sum of 425,000 euros after wagering 60 cents in the same establishment.
