2,000 people maximum indoors, 5,000 people maximum outdoors, are the new gauges set by the government which will come into force on Monday.

But they will not concern all places.

All fairs and exhibitions as well as zoos and amusement parks are exempt.

"All fairs and shows are not affected by the gauges" set on Monday to curb the Omicron variant of the Covid-19, said the Minister Delegate in charge of Tourism and SMEs, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, on Thursday.

Sanitary protocol to be observed

Zoos and amusement parks are also not affected by these new gauges set at 2,000 people maximum indoors and 5,000 outdoors from January 3, to curb the Omicron variant, added Mr. Lemoyne on RMC.

"On the other hand, there is a health protocol that applies. This protocol specifies that it is necessary to set up traffic routes, to ensure that there is not too much proximity between people, etc ... ", specified the minister.

The vaccination pass should apply

"We make a distinction between static gatherings and places where we circulate," said Mr. Lemoyne to justify this exemption.

For amusement parks, however, the gauge applies in projection room type spaces, detailed Jean-Batiste Lemoyne.

The vaccination pass should also apply to fairs, shows, parks and zoos which are currently subject to the health pass, "since all places affected by the health pass switch to the vaccine pass on January 15".

The gauges announced by Prime Minister Jean Castex on Monday evening should last three weeks, from Monday.
