Dominic Thiem and Dennis Novak having withdrawn, the Blues, who did not initially meet the eligibility criteria, will therefore take part in the team tournament which takes place from January 1 to 9.
They will be in Group B, along with Russia, Italy and Australia.
The 35th World Ugo Humbert will be accompanied by Arthur Rinderknech (58th), Edouard Roger-Vasselin and Fabrice Martin.
Nicolas Copin will be the captain of the France team.
Dominic Thiem, 15th in the world, announced Sunday to ignore the Australian tournament because of poor physical shape.
Removed from the courts for six months due to a wrist injury, he will not participate in the Australian Open (January 17-30, 2022) and should return to the courts in Cordoba (Argentina), at the end of January.
On Wednesday, world No.1 Novak Djokovic also withdrew from the competition, while several other players who were initially to participate, such as Canadian Denis Shapovalov or Russian Andrey Rublev, tested positive for Covid and placed in isolation.
