In the clip, you hear the affected couple Dirk and Melody Bodily who went all the way from the USA but were rejected at Hyllie train station.

In Helsingborg, 100 foreign travelers have been forced to turn around and take the ferry back to Denmark.

At the bridge in Malmö and the trains in Hyllie, there are about 500 rejections, in Trelleborg and Ystad about a few passengers.

And the number of rejected people is increasing: a few hours later, 700 people had been allowed to return to Denmark.

Requires more resources

The Border Police have received reinforcements to cope with the increased work effort - both car passengers and train passengers must be checked and be able to show a negative covid test that is a maximum of 48 hours old.

- It is about 30 percent, personnel that the police districts in Skåne have had to shoot at, says border police chief Mats Berggren.

"Has gone too fast"

Mats Berggren is critical of the pace of the authorities' restrictions.

- It has gone far too fast.

First comes the decision on vaccination sessions and then, within a week, the restrictions are further tightened.

It would have been easier for us if the restrictions had been stricter immediately, he says.

He says that many travelers were not aware of the new rules.

- It is not easy for foreign citizens to keep up when the requirements change.
