Remarkable success, and wholesale achievements, achieved by the first three months of “Expo 2020 Dubai”, as it witnessed a large number of activities to consolidate relations between countries, organizations, and artists, ranging from the conclusion of investment deals to events related to climate goals, and from cross-border cooperation to festivals. Multinational, which literally embodies the slogan of the international event “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”.

In early October, Uganda concluded business deals worth $650 million, while Malaysia signed deals worth more than $1.7 billion in the first two weeks of the international fair.

The same month also saw the announcement of the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo concluding new trade deals worth $1.1 billion.

The UAE, San Marino and Brazil signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of tourism cooperation.

The celebrations of the golden jubilee of the UAE proved to be a golden opportunity to conclude deals.

In this context, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, met French President Emmanuel Macron at the Expo 2020 Dubai site on the 3rd of December.

The visit witnessed the signing of a number of agreements between the two countries.

Busy weeks

US Special Presidential Climate Envoy John Kerry, who witnessed the signing, praised the agreement, describing it as "a model that shows how cooperation can contribute to accelerating energy transfer and creating more resilience to address the effects of climate change."

As part of the Space Week activities, held from October 17 to 23, the Emirates Space Agency announced that it will work with strategic partners to develop programs that provide an opportunity for the private sector to invest in space.

Last October 20, the Emirates Space Agency signed a memorandum of understanding with the Israel Space Agency, which may see the flags of the two countries be placed on the moon by 2024, and provides a framework for a mutually beneficial strategic partnership to enhance efforts to collect and analyze scientific space data.

On October 19, Curtin University and the United Arab Emirates University revealed joint plans to develop the first arrayed wireless observatory in Al Ain, through the existing strategic cooperation between Australia and the UAE in the fields of research and development.
