The blue book shows:

China has become a big country in the development and utilization of underground space

Science and Technology Daily News (Reporter Cao Xiuying) The Strategy Consulting Center of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Underground Space Branch of the Chinese Society of Rock Mechanics and Engineering, and the China Urban Planning Society jointly released the "2021 Blue Book on the Development of Urban Underground Space in China" on December 26th. Underground rail transit dominated by subways and underground municipal administration dominated by comprehensive pipe corridors are rapidly emerging. The development and utilization of urban underground space is showing a large-scale development trend. China has become a veritable big country in the development and utilization of underground space.

The blue book brings together the basic data and core indicators of China's urban underground space during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period. It focuses on the development of underground space in 2020, and presents a panoramic view of China's urban underground space from top-level design to industry and industrial development. The latest achievements, through the evaluation of key data and elements, reveal the inherent correlation trajectories of underground space and urban modernization in different dimensions and levels, and provide professional underground space for the sustainable development of cities and the combined use of land and space resources during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. opinion.

The Blue Book shows that, as measured by the degree of agglomeration of spatial distribution, the overall development pattern of "three belts, three cores, and multiple pieces" of urban underground space in China continues.

Among them, the "three belts" are continuous belts for the development and utilization of urban underground space, which are the eastern coastal belt, the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the continuous belt of the Beijing-Guangzhou Line.

The "Three Hearts" are the Northern Development Center, the Eastern Development Center and the Southeast Development Center.

"Multiple pieces" are the underground space development pieces of the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration with Chengdu and Chongqing as the core, the underground space development pieces of the Central Plains urban agglomeration with Zhengzhou as the core, and the underground space development pieces of the Guanzhong Plain urban agglomeration with Xi'an as the core.

In terms of rule of law, as of the end of 2020, China has promulgated a total of 527 laws, regulations, and normative documents related to urban underground space.

It can be seen from the statistics of laws and policies related to urban underground space over the years that the most promulgated and implemented during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, accounting for 73.4% of the total number in the past years.

During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, China's underground space industry system has shown strong market potential. The main function types of underground space are underground transportation, underground commercial services, underground municipal administration, underground public management and public service, underground storage, and special functions.

In terms of scientific research and communication in underground space, "smart" and "safety" will become a hot spot for scientific research in underground space during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period.
