The mother of the Russian expressed the hope that Russia and Belarus "will be able to come to an agreement among themselves" in order to "release" Dudnikov.

Earlier, the Minsk court sentenced Russian citizen Yegor Dudnikov to 11 years in prison for inciting social hatred and calling for action against the national security of Belarus.

The Russian was detained in May in Minsk, where he moved to live from Russia in the fall of 2019.
