The Fujairah Environment Authority received a phone call from a citizen, stating that there was a strange bird near his farm. The authority later found out that it is a rare bird in the country, and it is a type of "European sard."

The authority stated that it was able, in cooperation with one of the citizens, to discover the "European Sapid" bird, after the citizen found it near his farm. In order to examine the bird, confirm its type, take it to the laboratory to check on its health status, and record the necessary measurements.

The authority placed the authority’s marking bracelet on it, to prove that its passage was registered in the Emirate of Fujairah, if it was discovered and registered in another place later, by the concerned authorities, noting that the bird found by the citizen is known as the “European herbivore” is a migratory bird that masters camouflage in a way. It is large, active during the night, and rarely seen, and it can be sleeping during the day among the grasses, and it sets off when someone approaches it to change its place, because of its sense of danger, and its shape resembles the shape of a cuckoo or a hawk, but its feathers are vague, showing it in the form of dead tree leaves.

The authority called on community members to help preserve these beautiful species that visit the emirate, during its annual migration, and to communicate with the authority's communication channels, in case any strange or unusual type of birds or animals is detected.
