Within Igor, two social workers and four police officers work in an operational group.

The goal is, in addition to getting more perpetrators convicted to act "relapse prevention", says Markus Antonsson, group manager in violence in close relationship with the city police.

- By working even more structured and close together, we have a greater opportunity to reach out and create change.

More women are able to participate in the investigation and say yes to the social services.

More perpetrators get in touch with the social services and can be offered treatment.

The project has been extended for one year and will continue throughout 2022. At the same time, it will be evaluated by the Crime Prevention Council.

- We want to base our project on evidence, so the fact that two researchers will follow the project and evaluate is a step in the right direction, says Klara Dourrouj.

If Igor succeeds, the working method can become permanent and be introduced in other areas.
