"By the decision of the magistrate ... in the case of an administrative offense provided for in part 5 of Article 13.41 of the Administrative Code of Russia, Google LLC was found guilty ... A punishment was imposed in the form of an administrative fine in the amount of 7,221,916,235 rubles," the court said.

Earlier, the Magistrate's Court of the Tagansky District of Moscow fined Google another 5 million rubles for failure to remove links.

In early December, it was reported that Google and Meta would face a turnover fine of up to 1/10 of their annual revenue.

In October, Roskomnadzor reported that the department would sue to collect turnover fines from Google for systematic failure to remove prohibited content.
