According to the investigation, in the period from November 16 to 17, a suspect in one of the Internet communities disseminated information expressing obvious disrespect for society about the days of military glory of Russia associated with the defense of the Fatherland, and information humiliating the honor and dignity of one of the veterans.
“A criminal case has been initiated on the fact of public insult to the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland and humiliation of the honor and dignity of a veteran of the Great Patriotic War (part 4 of Art. 354.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia),” the statement reads.
Specialists at the place of residence of the suspect conducted a search, seized computer equipment.
The man is currently detained.
The question of the choice of a preventive measure in the form of detention is being resolved.
