The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has reached a divorce settlement in the UK that requires him to pay 900 billion won in alimony to his sixth wife and children. This is the highest amount of alimony ever awarded by a British court.

According to a Reuters report on the 21st local time, the High Court in London, UK, has given the UAE Prime Minister, Vice President and Dubai leader Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (72) to Haya Bint Al Hussein (47) to Princess of Jordan 554 million won. It was decided that pounds (about 875.8 billion won) should be paid.

Prime Minister Mohammed is a billionaire and an international horse racing enthusiast. Princess Haya, who is in the process of divorce, is known as the youngest of his six wives.

This divorce case started with Princess Haya and her bodyguard having an affair.

Princess Haya felt her life threatened when her husband found out that she was having an affair, so she and her two children fled to England in 2019 to file a lawsuit.

In the process, Prime Minister Mohammed used spyware to hack Princess Haya's cell phone.

In the past, Prime Minister Mohammed had a history of kidnapping two daughters, Princess Latifa and Princess Shamsa, who were born to another wife, when they challenged him while living abroad. Princess Haya said she felt threatened and filed for divorce.

A local court has ordered Prime Minister Mohammed to deposit £290 million (about 458 billion won) in a bank as a guarantee for his daughter and son's security and education expenses, which he has to pay annually.

Through this lawsuit, some of the luxurious lives of the Middle Eastern royal family, including Princess Haya, were also revealed.

Annual security expenses of £11 million (approximately KRW 17.3 billion), the cost of repairing two houses every 10 years: £13 million (approx. (about 300 million won), pet maintenance cost of 42,000 pounds (about 66 million won), nurses, nanny, and tutoring expenses of 450,000 pounds (about 700 million won) were reflected in the alimony.

Vacation expenses were set at £5.1 million per year. Vacation expenses included additional security expenses for 9 weeks abroad and 2 weeks in the UK, private plane and helicopter fees, etc.

The local court said that the alimony was set based on Princess Haya's affluent life in Dubai.

A spokesperson for Princess Haya said that the princess had spent over £70 million in litigation over two and a half years alone.

Meanwhile, it is known that the highest amount of alimony previously recognized by a British court was £453 million (about 716.1 billion won), which the Russian conglomerate Parkhard Akmedov had given to his ex-wife.
