For his part, Vice President of Communications and Official Spokesperson for Expo 2020 Dubai, Mohammed Al Ansari, said: “We are pleased that (Camel Journey) has landed at (Expo Dubai), which is proud of its partnership with the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center to be an ideal international platform that contributes to highlighting the Emirati heritage. Its diversity and presentation to millions of visitors, and 192 participating countries from all over the world.”

He stressed that "this authentic Emirati event constitutes an important addition that enriches the international event that brings together the cultures and heritage of the peoples of the world, in a way that truly embodies our motto of connecting minds and creating the future."

Amidst a standing ovation, incense, henna, saffron and traditional traditions, Expo 2020 Dubai hosted the final leg of the eighth edition of the “Camel Journey”, which included 30 participants of 21 different nationalities, who crossed the Emirati desert for 13 consecutive days, starting from Liwa and passing through several stations with a distance of 640 Kilometers to the World Expo headquarters.

Spaniard David Benito, one of the participants, said: “The trip gave me a real look into the Emirati culture, as we had to train to develop our physical fitness, and learn how to ride and communicate with camels.

It taught us to live with all that the desert had to offer, while camels, in particular, taught us how to be strong.”

He added, "We were the main attraction when we arrived at Expo 2020. Visitors would ask to take pictures with us and ask us about the experience, and that was great."
