All parties in the municipal council in Landskrona were behind an investigation of the municipality's possibilities to close public activities for people who are not vaccinated against covid-19.

But such a decision is not possible at present, according to the investigation.

The call to the government: Give us powers

Today, it is possible to require covidpass at events for over 100 people, but closing certain municipal activities or premises for the unvaccinated would require the government to give the municipalities increased powers in law - something that municipal councilor Torkild Strandberg (L) urges the government to do.

- I absolutely want to urge that as far as possible, in order to keep society as open and free as ever, make sure to require that you are vaccinated to be allowed to visit certain public and public premises, he says to SVT.

- As our powers from the state increase, we will do so.

It is important to send a clear signal that it is important to get vaccinated.

Will review requirements for new hires

Instead, the city will now review what opportunities there are for requiring vaccination for new employment in sensitive professions in the municipality, the municipal council says.

A similar decision is already a reality in, for example, Båstad.

In the clip, Torkild Strandberg explains why he wants to prevent the unvaccinated from visiting municipal activities:
