Last week the National Police and the Municipal Police undertook the largest raid on Chinese establishments in Madrid in the last 10 years. As a result of the police operation, 500,000 products were immobilized after registering 44 bazaars, beauty shops, massage parlors, karaoke bars, junk shops and hairdressers. The agents also seized drugs, knives and pistols. In addition,

237 people were identified and 22 individuals were arrested.

Nine Chinese citizens were charged and not arrested. Among the items seized are, for example, food in poor condition, unapproved products and thousands of Chinese sweets without any type of sanitary control for sale and without labeling.

The number of arrests will probably increase this week because the material intervened could lead to criminal responsibilities among the businessmen once the reports are finalized by the Consumption, Environment, Municipal Police and the Labor Inspection that accompanied the agents in operation.

Many Chinese employees and businessmen have been summoned to testify after discovering irregularities in their businesses,

having workers without contracts or selling smuggled products.

The

purpose of the

operation called

Intruder

was to inspect the premises of Chinese citizens in order to protect the rights of consumers at Christmas. The main promoters of the operation were the GOE V agents of the Provincial Brigade of Immigration of Madrid together with the agents of the UICJ (Intervention and Coordination Unit of the Judicial Police) of the Municipal Police of Madrid.

The agents worked for several days up to 18 hours in a row

, since once the records were finished, the days were lengthened to write the long reports.

After the inspection of 14 beauty shops, 25,000 products related to hair dye,

hairspray and nail polish, and eyelash glue,

which pose a serious health risk,

were seized

.

In a center on the street of Amparo Usera, "various appliances of cosmetic products and lamps were removed due to the risk of burns and electric shock," according to the police.

In a Chinese restaurant on Calle de Nicolás Sánchez, number 61, there was another paradoxical discovery.

In the warehouse

there were boxes of lidocaine and hyaluronic acid, a product

used for facial aesthetics.

The massage parlors were another of the objectives of the operation.

They were inspected for victims of human trafficking.

In one of these places, a Chinese citizen attacked two policemen when they tried to identify him.

One of the most surprising interventions was in

a Chinese junkyard on the Camino de Perales de Usera,

which turned out to be an industrial gas installation center without any type of security measures. The gigantic establishment stored thousands of irregular products, including

135 bottles of gas prohibited in Spain

and others brought, supposedly, as contraband. Employees worked irregularly at the premises and he lacked a license to carry out the activity. It also did not have the permits from the Community of Madrid, there were no signs abroad that reported on the activity of the business and it did not have the waste manager permit. The owner of the premises has been summoned today Monday to give a statement to the Police and provide business documents.

Bottles seized from a junkyard that turned out to be a gas installation facility.

In a parcel on Amparo Usera street

there were 15 boxes of sea cucumbers

(holothurians), a succulent shellfish that can reach the price of 500 euros per kilo.

The food lacked labeling and documents that would provide its traceability.

Also in the same premises were 250 boxes of Cuban cigars from contraband, prohibited drugs of the brand name enalapril.

In another of the premises

8,000 sanitary masks

were discovered

that could not be marketed

. And in a textile workshop on Julia Mediavilla de Vallecas street, the agents found several irregularities that caused the premises to be sealed off by the Madrid City Council Fire Department.

Around 3,000 toys were immobilized on

Calle de Ferroviarios 62

due to labeling deficiencies

. Other gambling halls and shops not run by Chinese nationals have also been checked for possible wrongdoing.

The macro-gang culminated last Thursday night with

the inspection of the Chinese karaoke El Caballo Dorado

located on Dolores Barranco de Usera street, suspecting that irregularities were being committed in this entertainment venue.

In total, a hundred agents from the UPR, National Police, UAS of the Municipal Police and agents of the Immigration Brigade and the UICJ of Municipal Police traveled to the entertainment venue.

The enclosure

had small private rooms where dozens of people gathered

.

In one of the rooms a man had a pistol ready to fire.

Another man, with a police record, was discovered with a knife.

He alleged to the officers that he used it to cut his nails.

In another of the rooms, narcotic substances were found, specifically 14 grams of ketamine, a powerful anesthetic for veterinary use that causes

hallucinations and loss of consciousness

and that, when "cooked" and mixed with other substances, is snorted such as cocaine.

Its derivative, "Kin", is obtained

by simmering ketamine

until it turns into a powder similar to grains of salt.

Finally, eight people were arrested, all of them for illegal stay in Spain under the Immigration Law.
