  Changsha City reported on the evening of the 18th that the Hunan Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention performed whole-genome sequencing and sequence analysis on respiratory specimens imported from Changsha City on December 16 from people infected with the new coronavirus. After review by the China Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, all confirmed the detection of the new coronavirus Omi Keron mutant (B.1.1.529 evolutionary branch).

The two infected persons are entry closed-loop control personnel and are currently being treated in isolation at designated hospitals.
