“Representative of the US Congress Jason Crowe led a congressional delegation to Kiev to discuss Russia's aggressive military build-up in and around Ukraine,” the US Embassy in Ukraine said in a statement.

Crowe and his colleagues, Brad Venstrup and Rick Crawford, reaffirmed US support for harsh measures in response to any Russian invasion of Ukraine and noted their commitment to the state's territorial integrity.

Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Dmitry Kuleba, in an interview with The Washington Post, said that the lack of details of Washington, London and Brussels about their sanctions against Moscow may cause the latter to doubt the West's readiness to take decisive action in the event of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

In turn, the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov noted that Russia would mirror the extension of countermeasures against the European Union.
