The symposium showed that more than 400 million people speak Arabic around the world, which is one of six languages in UNESCO. Without siding with it because it is our language, or underestimating it because of the challenges it faces, it is deeply rooted in history, and it is developing and flourishing. And about its reality in the age of digitization and the mechanisms and policies of contemporary digital content, the symposium revealed that the digital content of the Arabic language is very small, and it is equivalent to only 3% of the other digital content, while other less prevalent languages have much more content than the percentage of Arabic digital content, so who bears the responsibility? The symposium attributed the reasons for the weakness of the Arabic content to the lack of support and funding for projects concerned with the dissemination of Arabic knowledge, and that the tools on the Internet, some of which are not Arabized, and much of the Arabic content is “just cut and pasted.”The symposium focused on the UAE's interest in the Arabic language in educational institutions, and praised the leadership's efforts to enhance the status of the Arabic language. The participants paused with the academic report launched by the UAE Ministry of Culture and Youth last December, under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, noting that this report is an important reference for decision makers; Because of the statistics and research it contains that shed light on the Arabic language, its importance and its future, and the main themes of this report: media, space and place, the use of the Arabic language in the contemporary novel, the Arabic language and technology, the Arabic language and translation, and the use of the Arabic language in teaching science and scientific research, University students' attitudes and beliefs about the Arabic language, the Arabic language and other approaches, the Arabic language and the new worlds.

Al Arabiya is sixth in the world

On the relationship of the Arabic language with the rest of the languages in the era of globalization, and the opportunities for its prosperity, the symposium indicated that the Arabic language, which is the sixth in the world in our time, is expected to be the fourth in the world in 2025, and one of the French scientists says that there are 7000 languages in the world now, and it is expected That only 50 languages survive in the third millennium, and “Arabic” will be one of them, because of its history, breadth and spread, and because it is a global heritage. He must master the Arabic language because it is the language of science.
