In an effort to help Afghanistan in a serious humanitarian crisis, Islamic countries have decided to hold an urgent meeting and establish an international fund to work on food procurement and more.

Foreign Ministers from 57 countries and regions in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa attended the emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in OIC on the 19th in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.



In addition, Acting Foreign Minister Muttaki of the Taliban interim administration in Afghanistan and Ambassador Takashi Okada of Japan, Special Representative of the West of the United States, also participated as observers.



Pakistan's Prime Minister Khan said, "Since the Taliban's reinstatement, foreign support has ceased and foreign assets have been frozen. In this situation, any country will collapse. If the world does not move to support, humanity will It will be the biggest crisis that will be caused, "he said, calling for support from each country.



In Afghanistan, 60% of the people are facing food shortages due to economic turmoil, and unpaid salaries to civil servants and teachers continue.



For this reason, the meeting decided to establish an international fund to procure food and pay salaries to civil servants as soon as possible.



We also confirmed that in order to prevent the economic collapse of Afghanistan, we would consider solutions to unfreeze the overseas assets we hold.
