The Million Poet celebrates 15 years of service to poetry and poets

The program managed to present 480 poets, including 23 poets, from the first season until the launch of the tenth season.

The Nabati poetry program “The Million Poet”, produced and organized by the Cultural and Heritage Festivals and Programs Committee in Abu Dhabi, celebrates 15 years of serving poetry and poets, contributing to the development of literary taste, raising cultural and human awareness in the Arab world, encouraging new generations to develop their poetic talents and giving them the opportunity to interact with poets Distinguished people, and learn about weights, rhymes, and different poetic schools.

The Million's Poet program, hosted by Al Raha Beach Theater in Abu Dhabi, succeeded in restoring consideration to poetry and its recitation arts, based on a broad popular base of people's love for it.

The participants from young poets demonstrated the success of the program in encouraging young talents, and that poetry is still popular and popular as a means of expression for various groups of society.

Over the past 15 years, specifically since the beginning of 2006 and the launch of the first season of the program, the Emirate of Abu Dhabi has witnessed a remarkable transformation in the framework of the sustainable cultural development process, a translation of ambitious aspirations to establish Abu Dhabi as a global city that preserves its cultural heritage by recognizing the risks facing popular heritage worldwide. The program's jury directly met more than 15,000 poets in the interview rounds that were held in a number of Arab countries over 10 seasons, and provided the opportunity for a wide media appearance for the first time for more than 1,000 poets by choosing them in the list of tests and interviews known as the list of the initial 100. The program was also able to present 480 poets, including 23 poets, since the first season until the launch of the tenth season, and in each season the base of Nabati poetry expanded more so that Nabati poetry exceeded the borders of the Arab Gulf and included all Arab countries, and reached a large number of speakers of the language of Dhad.

Over the past nine seasons, 432 poets presented more than 1,250 poems during 136 episodes of the live broadcast that were broadcast from Al Raha Beach Theatre, between a main poem or a matching poem.

Al Raha Beach Theater witnessed the attendance of more than 265,000 spectators, men and women, for the program's live episodes, in the previous nine seasons, while the program followed live on the air by tens of millions of Nabatean poetry lovers in a phenomenon that the Arab cultural scene has not witnessed.

 The Million's Poet has succeeded in rehabilitating poetry and the arts of reciting it based on a broad popular base.
