He congratulated the UAE government on the "remarkable success" of the "Expo 2020 Dubai" activities.

He added, "In Senegal, we focus on many sectors, foremost of which is the transport sector, as a promising sector. We are currently seeking to build a fast train between cities, and we are also focusing on building a network of highways within our country."

He said, "There is also interest in the agriculture, mining, tourism, oil and gas sectors," noting that the UAE is Senegal's first trading partner in the region, and Senegal is an important partner for the UAE in West Africa.

The value of non-oil foreign trade between the two countries, during the first half of 2019, amounted to about 1.25 billion dirhams, with a growth rate of about 4.8%, compared to the same period in 2018, and the volume of non-oil trade exchange between the two countries reached 15.2 billion dirhams during eight years ( 2011-2018).

Senegal joined the "Global Logistics Passport" initiative, a major initiative launched by Dubai to connect countries around the world and promote trade between the countries of the South.

The UAE and Senegal also signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint Emirati-Senegalese business council this year, within the framework of identifying investment opportunities available in Senegal, assisting Senegalese business owners and investors wishing to establish direct or joint projects in the UAE, and supporting existing investments and successful partnerships. between Emirati and Senegalese companies.
