"Serov, who was on the wanted list, was detained in the Krasnodar Territory," a law enforcement source told RIA Novosti.

According to him, in the near future the former Crimean Deputy Prime Minister will be delivered to the territory of the peninsula, at present the official is being taken to Rostov-on-Don.

In 2018, Deputy Prime Minister of Crimea Vladimir Serov, who was in charge of transport, energy and housing and communal services, resigned. 

Serov held this post since July 2017, before that he headed the city administration of Sudak. 

According to media reports, in April 2019, a criminal case was opened against him for promises or offers of mediation in bribery.

Subsequently, the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, confirmed that Serov was wanted.
