Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, Supreme President of the Academy of the Arabic Language in Sharjah, His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, witnessed yesterday a ceremony honoring the winners of the ALECSO-Sharjah Prize for Linguistic and Lexical Studies in Its fourth session, at the home of Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi.

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi delivered the speech of His Highness, Ruler of Sharjah, Supreme President of the Academy of the Arabic Language in Sharjah.

His Highness pointed out that the Arab intellectual, in light of the difficult and severe global circumstances he is experiencing, needs someone to extend a helping hand to him, someone who appreciates his efforts, and an urgent need for someone to raise his spirits.

His Highness said: "Here we are extending our hands to you and will not leave you alone in the field, in gratitude for your efforts, and in appreciation of your persistent, beautiful and continuous endeavor to serve the Arabic language."

His Highness added, “The award once again appears to all specialists in the branches of linguistics in various countries of the world in its new dress today, and I do not exaggerate if I say: it is the continuing specialized Arab award that made its way to success four years ago, and the specialized intellectuals eagerly await it every year. They accept it with love, and this year, 67 researchers and specialists competed and were nominated for the award. The judging resulted in four distinguished winners;

Two in linguistic studies, and two in lexical studies, and here you are today meeting to honor and celebrate them.”
