Lindsey added: “Al Wasl Square dome is not like any typical projection surface, its structure is very ornate, which gives it a tangible presence. The magic is in it, so we need to perfectly set the content of our content, in alignment with the structure of the dome, in order to attract the interest of the audience.”

He stressed that the Al-Wasl Dome is not like any typical display screen, as the typical screens are distinguished by the fact that cutting and editing techniques work well with them, and the display images must be developed from one point to another, while Al-Wasl Dome creates a sensory connection with the audience, and herein lies the magic through making this The desired transformation, which we can do by relying on making a few simple adjustments.”

He stated that “the special offers for the festive season are inspired by the many different backgrounds of people visiting (Expo 2020), so their design revolves around the concepts of “magic” and “nostalgia”, noting that “life will be resurrected in the magical Christmas icons, from The lifelike dancing puppets, the battles between snowmen and devious dwarves, to addressing each one of us (Christmas) child, all presented within a frame of dance panels accompanied by a nostalgic soundtrack, this show is a giant gift that is always giving, And who knows, there may be a special appearance for (Santa Claus.. Santa Claus) himself!”

Attractive structures

The festive season specials are unique, as the dome of Al Wasl Square is a one-of-a-kind iconic building. “Understanding how the audience interacts with the dome and its surroundings is critical, as the Al Wasl Dome is more than just a large projection screen, as it is based on an incredibly bass surround sound system of 27.1 decibels, and is based on an eye-catching array of structures,” said Lindsey. The breathtaking light, in addition to the inclusion of a smart central platform, and when you are in a place where all these elements gather, the visitor will certainly have an experience that only the dome of Al Wasl Square can provide.”

He continued: “The opportunity to translate what is going on in the audience’s imagination in such an immersive space is what makes the creative journey so special, as the performances are characterized by renewal from the beginning, and we look forward to all of the story, design, animation, and composed musical pieces, The locations, and the way we design the dances and costumes, are thoughtfully executed, in line with the charm of the Al Wasl Square dome.”

He continued: “We seek to make our shows based on events of a changing nature, so that their presentation period does not last for a very long time, as all the scenes we present develop in an integrated manner with each other, which creates a wonderful sense of anticipation, as each scene carries an element with it. Surprise, and this is the secret behind entertaining and fascinating the audience.”

Lindsey described the work on the Al-Wasl Dome project as “it was not easy, but future designers can draw inspiration from the achievement of my team, as the six months of (Expo) witness the transformation of the Al-Wasl Dome into many forms, starting with the content that is based on To the experiences gained, to the full performances presented by a number of actors, and it may even turn into a place to present rock music, and all of these serve as a valuable and invaluable reference source for future creators, who will present their works at Al Wasl Dome.”

Richard Lindsey: "Who knows... there may be a special appearance for (Santa Claus... Santa Claus) himself in the Al Wasl Square performances, during (Christmas)!"

creative journey

“The inauguration of the Al-Wasl Dome took a long time, so we had to continue to get more references and knowledge, as at the beginning of any creative journey, which is a very important and topical matter,” said Richard Lindsey, executive director of creativity at Artists in Motion. A great welcome .. We were overwhelmed by the spirit of challenge, and provided us with the luxury of having enough time to complete this kind of work without relying on any reference.
