“We welcome the news that the remaining 12 people have been released today, including 11 Americans who were abducted on October 16,” the foreign ministry said in a statement.
The State Department thanked the Haitian police and international organizations for their assistance in the release of citizens.
In October, it was reported that a group of Americans had been kidnapped in Haiti by an armed gang that has been operating in the country for several months.
