As Belyaev noted, the idea of introducing additional payments to pensioners "can only be welcomed."

The only question is in the amount of payments and in what categories of pensioners, the expert said.

“It is clear that additional payments for the New Year can be perceived with particular enthusiasm ... It is clear that the increased expenses for the New Year, especially for retirement, is not very easy to turn around.

This additional amount can help pensioners when celebrating the New Year - buying gifts for their grandchildren, and so on, ”said the economist.

Speaking about the timing of the implementation of such an idea, the expert expressed the opinion that the implementation of the bill is possible this year, however, in his opinion, there is also a risk that the initiative may “just hang in the information field”.

Earlier it was reported that the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs had developed a bill "On the annual pre-New Year's pension payment."

As reported by the Izvestia newspaper, the bill implies the introduction of pre-New Year payments to pensioners on a permanent basis.
