China News Service, December 16 According to a report by the US Chinese website, on the 14th local time, a US federal judge made a ruling and rejected former President Trump's motion to not submit his tax returns to Congress.

Trump’s lawyers said overnight that they would continue to appeal.

On January 20, 2021 local time, Washington, USA, Trump boarded the "Marine Corps One" presidential helicopter.

This lawsuit was originally filed by Neal, the chairman of the Ways and Means Committee of the US House of Representatives. He was suing the Trump Administration’s Treasury Department, which refused to submit Trump’s tax records to the committee.

However, after Biden took office, the federal government has changed its position.

The verdict on the 14th was made by Judge Trevor McFadden, who was appointed by Trump.

In the judgment, he approved the request of the Department of Justice and the House of Representatives to dismiss the case, which means that the current government can submit Trump's tax returns to Congress in accordance with normal procedures.

However, McFadden also allowed the sentence to be suspended for 14 days in order to allow time for the Trump side to appeal.

Regarding this judgment, Neal said he was not surprised at all, "The law is completely on the side of our committee."

CNN reported that Trump’s appeal will extend the process for at least a few more months.

The appeal will be heard by the Federal Court of Appeals in the District of Columbia, which has a liberal position.

If the verdict continues to be detrimental to Trump, then he is likely to continue to appeal to the Supreme Court.

McFadden stated in his judgment that Trump’s claims were “legally wrong,” and due to the large number of cases that the Supreme Court needs to hear, this will obviously further delay the relevant reasonable requests of Congress.

However, in his opinion, he also warned Neal of the consequences of making Trump's tax return public.
