Mother Hanna, father Matia and children Liv and Isak have helped bake and built the gingerbread country.

The family has ties to both Vittangi in Sweden and Kitingi in Tanzania.

The gingerbread land, which is baked with cinnamon, turmeric and rowan berries, illustrates the environment in Lapland with snow and its animals - and Tanzania with a drier landscape among giraffes, lions, crocodiles and elephants where the animals and humans wait for the rainy season.

- Above the gingerbread land hangs a Sami protection symbol, a bowl of silver, as protection of the landscapes in Sweden and Tanzania, says Hanna Råman.
