Nothing is safe, especially not in the pandemic. Exempting all boosted vaccinated persons from the obligation to test does not bring more security, but more freedom for those who deserve it. The third vaccination is usually more than a booster, but does not rule out the disease or the transmission of the virus. But it protects - and this is crucial - with a high probability of severe courses, and vaccination also helps to contain the new variant of the virus. A waiver of the obligation to test (the care area is rightly excluded) for those who are best protected according to the current status must be observed and should not lull anyone into a false sense of security. But it creates a further incentive to get vaccinated.

Such incentives are still necessary - in the interests of freedom and security for all. In a way that preserves freedom, this serves the legitimate aim of being able to provide good medical care for everyone in the future as well. It is not about an abstract indicator of a system that in fact reached its limits earlier. It is about the fact that no sick child, no heart patient or accident victim has to be turned away because there are corona patients in the intensive care units who consciously put themselves and others at risk. This is not stigmatization of the unvaccinated. Everyone is to be treated with respect.

If, of course, scientific facts are neatly hidden, quacks are passed for gurus and then the breath of historical resistance is breathed in, then well-meaning tolerance also reaches its limits.

This state does not conduct human experiments on minorities, but tries to get through the pandemic as well as possible on a professional basis with a broad consensus.

Anyone who sees totalitarianism at work here and complains about the failure of the protection of fundamental rights, obviously has a fundamental problem with our liberal order.

Every voice needs it.
