December 13, 2021 Israel and the United Arab Emirates close relations with the aim of being, as "cousins and neighbors", a model in the region. The visit just over a year after the Abrahamic Agreements, the peace treaty, diplomatic relations and full normalization between the United Arab Emirates and the State of Israel.

Naftali Bennett was the first Israeli prime minister to make an official visit to the Gulf country, a central element in the new alliance strategy in the Middle East, with the aim of neutralizing Iran. It is no coincidence - in this perspective - that the El Al flight with Bennett on board, to reach the Gulf, passed through the airspace of Saudi Arabia, once unapproachable. The "historic" visit was enhanced today by an interview of over 4 hours of the premier with bin Zayed in the palace of the crown prince in Abu Dhabi. And soon - Bennett's office announced - the sheikh will reciprocate the visit by arriving - even if the date is not yet known - in Israel to further strengthen relations that are now more than tested.

"The message I want to convey to the leaders of the UAE and its citizens - said Bennett in an exclusive interview with the Emirati agency Wam before meeting bin Zayed - is that mutual collaboration and friendship are natural. We are close and cousins. We are the nephews of the prophet Abraham. " A judgment immediately confirmed after the meeting. "We had in-depth, meaningful and sincere conversations. Our goal is to extend ties not only for peace between leaders but also between peoples."

On the table all sectors of cooperation with agreements already reached in recent months: trade, research and development, cyber security, health, education, aviation and more. "In my opinion - noted Bennett in the same interview - cooperation in the field of health and food safety will be an important part of the reciprocal one. I look forward to the continuous development and consolidation of relations". "Israel, like the United Arab Emirates - he added - is a regional hub for trade. Our cooperation offers unprecedented economic opportunities not only for us, but for more countries, which is another element to improve stability and prosperity. in this region ".

"Concluding the meeting, the two sides - reported Wam - highlighted the enthusiasm to promote bilateral cooperation and joint action in an attempt to strengthen mutual interests and contribute to the consolidation of stability, security and development in the region".

No official mention of the Iran dossier, but according to the media, the nuclear issue in Tehran and its action beyond the borders were issues addressed by both sides.

After all, it was the premier's office himself, in announcing the surprise departure for the Emirates, which indicated Iran as one of the chapters to be addressed during the visit.
