The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United Arab Emirates, Madyar Menelikov, revealed that the volume of Emirati investments in Kazakhstan, during the past year, amounted to 181 million dollars (about 664 million dirhams), adding that this year alone has witnessed three agreements in the field of energy between the Wealth Fund The Sovereignty of Kazakhstan “Samaruk-Kazina”, the “Holding Company” (ADQ), Abu Dhabi, and the Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA), with a value of 22 billion dirhams in 2021.

During a press conference held yesterday at the Kazakhstan pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, on the occasion of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence, in the presence of the Director of the Archives Department at the National Archives of the UAE, Hamad Abdullah Al-Mutairi, pointed out the many opportunities available to investors from the UAE in The sectors of agriculture, transportation, medicine and information technology, pointing to ongoing discussions regarding investment opportunities between the two countries.

He added that it is expected to open the Abu Dhabi Plaza complex, which is being developed by Aldar Properties, with investments amounting to 1.4 billion dollars (about 5.1 billion dirhams), during the first quarter of next year, pointing to the opening of part of the project during the previous period, and the full opening of the project will be very soon. .

A significant increase

Minelekov expected that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries would increase at greater rates during the coming period.

He stated that more than 350 Emirati companies are currently operating in his country, while more than 200 Kazakh companies are operating in the UAE.

He said that the air traffic between the two countries, in turn, is witnessing a significant increase in the number of direct flights linking the airports of the two countries, which currently amounts to about 40 flights per week, and is expected to increase with the launch of "Wizair Abu Dhabi" flights to Kazakhstan next week.

He praised the role of "Expo 2020 Dubai" in introducing the investment opportunities offered by Kazakhstan, pointing out that his country's pavilion at the international exhibition celebrated yesterday the reception of the 500,000th visitor.

Menelekov stressed that the UAE is the first strategic, commercial and economic partner in the Arab region of his country, and is a strategic, developmental and economic depth for Kazakhstan.

The Kazakh ambassador praised the continuous and continuous support of the leadership of the UAE, in relation to regional and international issues politically, economically, investment, cultural and humanitarian, noting the dynamic development of bilateral relations under the leadership of the two countries with insightful visions and realistic foresight on regional and international issues.

He noted that the civilized and humane distinction that is unique to the UAE has earned it the respect and appreciation of the countries and peoples of the world.
