12 December 2021 The searches continue of the man under investigation for the gunshot murder of Giovanna Cantarero, called Jenny, 27, killed in the late evening of Friday while leaving, together with a colleague, from the bakery-pastry shop where he worked in Lineri, a hamlet of Misterbianco, shortly after finishing his shift.

The wanted man is not the 27-year-old's ex-partner and father of the girl the couple had.

The suspect in the murder

was

given immediately fled and is still unavailable

despite the roadblocks and ongoing searches. He would have had a relationship defined as 'stormy' with the victim, never reported. Giovanna Cantarero, in fact, despite the first news speak of a difficult relationship, with almost daily quarrels with the wanted man, has never filed complaints.

According to the investigators, the shadows on the fugitive are heavy because, although all the media and social networks talk about the crime, he has not presented himself to the investigators.

The woman was killed

while he was waiting for his mother with a colleague who witnessed the stages of the murder but who would not be able to recognize the murderer, as she has a covered face. While the 27-year-old waited outside the bakery, the man who allegedly called the victim by name arrived and then fired three gunshots: one would hit Cantarero in the face. The woman collapsed and dropped the bag with the bread she was holding. The killer then went off perhaps with a scooter. Meanwhile, in front of the oven, the scene of the crime, people have placed bouquets of flowers. The owners of the business have decided to keep the business closed in the form of mourning and respect for the victim.

The young, blue-eyed, petite with a child's face, has a 4-year-old girl from her ex cohabitant, totally unrelated to the fact.

The mayor of Misterbianco, Marco Corsaro, says he did not know the victim who went to the Lineri hamlet just to work.

Jenny Cantarero lived in Catania and had no friends or ties in the neighboring municipality.

The fact that he never filed any complaints made the investigation more difficult at first.

The investigators had to reconstruct the victim's network of friendships and ties with the testimonies of family members.

However, at present, nothing leaks about the investigation by the investigators and the Etna prosecutor's office.
