The report published by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is based on the follow-up of 43 confirmed cases of Omicron mutation in 22 US states.
There were no deaths, and only one was hospitalized and treated for two days.
The main symptoms were cough, fatigue, stuffy nose and runny nose, and fever.
Like the first confirmed cases of Omicron in South Africa, the symptoms were mostly mild.

19% of Omicron-infected patients were unvaccinated, and 80% had breakthrough infections despite being vaccinated.
14% of the total were infected with Omicron again, even though they had contracted the corona once before.
The CDC has emphasized that initial research results show that booster shots, booster doses, are also effective against omicrons.
