December 11, 2021A gas cylinder exploded in a four-storey building in via Galileo Galilei in Ravanusa, in the province of Agrigento. According to the first news coming from the place, the entire building would have collapsed.

There are fears that there may be some people under the rubble.

The firefighters of Canicattì, Agrigento and Licata intervened on the spot and first of all had to try to tame the flames that developed in the gas explosion.

Only when the fire is extinguished can the search for people begin. The local police station and reinforcements from Licata are also present at the site of the explosion.

The mayor of Ravanusa, Carmelo D'Angelo, with a direct facebook, launched an appeal: "Anyone who has tank trucks and mechanical means give us a hand. It's a disaster".

Numerous teams of Civil Protection volunteers, firefighters and the Red Cross, coming from various municipalities in the Agrigento area, have accepted the mayor's appeal and are on their way to Ravanusa.

Rescuers are busy searching for some missing persons who have not yet been traced.
