China News Service, December 10th. Comprehensive media reported on the 10th that Lithuanian Foreign Minister Landsbergis announced his resignation.

According to reports, Landsbergis has submitted his resignation in writing because he believes that the Belarusian company's goods that have been sanctioned by the United States continue to pass through Lithuania, which damages Lithuania’s “reputation”.

Earlier reports introduced that the United States imposed sanctions on many Belarusian companies, including Belarusian Potash Corporation, and the sanctions took effect on December 8.

With the entry into force of the sanctions, Lithuania, which regards the United States as a strategic partner, has internal disagreements over whether and when to stop cooperating with the Belarusian Potash Company, and has failed to unify opinions.

Landsbergis previously stated that if the Belarusian Potash Company still completes the advance payment to the Liberty in accordance with the contract, he will resign.

He believes that the advance payment of the Belarusian company is "abnormal."

After being sanctioned by the United States, Belarusian-related companies' cargoes continued to transit Lithuania, which “created a challenge” to Lithuania’s reputation.
