Throughout his address to the nation, President Roch Marc Christian Kaboré called on his compatriots to rally and join together for the defense and security forces and volunteers fighting against terrorism.

According to the head of state, terrorism feeds on internal dissension.

"

The history of our people has opened up wounds,

" said the Burkinabè president.

This undoubtedly explains today the ambiguous attitude of certain people towards terrorism.

And yet, we must have the courage to look ourselves in the face to settle all this painful liability, without rushing forward, by bursting the abscess in order to create the conditions conducive to a new start, convinced that terrorism in Burkina Faso is fueled and maintained by the hatred born out of our recent political history.

 "

The President of Faso then invites the populations not to be mistaken about their adversary or their enemy.

He believes that they should instead focus on the priorities of the moment.

"

These include the return of the administration and internally displaced persons to deserted areas,"

he continues;

securing all areas infected by armed terrorist groups;

the pursuit of the establishment of basic community social services in the various localities;

the reorganization of the operational defense of the territory involving greater participation of the populations.

 "

Roch Marc Christian Kaboré solemnly calls on the Burkinabè to agree to the war effort.

He undertakes to put in place a system to collect and manage the various contributions transparently.
