A 57-year-old woman who had obtained a false vaccination certificate died of Covid-19 in a hospital in the Ile-de-France region, the head of the establishment's intensive care unit said on Friday, calling on unvaccinated patients not to hide it to doctors.

The patient, without a medical history, had been admitted to the Raymond-Poincaré hospital in Garches (Hauts-de-Seine) with a false health pass bought from a doctor, ensuring that she was vaccinated.

A severe form of the disease "which progressed rapidly"

She suffered from a severe form of the disease "which progressed rapidly to severe respiratory damage," said Djillali Annane, head of the intensive care unit, interviewed on RTL.

However, if the doctors had known that the patient was not vaccinated against Covid-19, they could "have given her early neutralizing antibodies, which we know are effective in reducing the risk of progression of the disease ".

A false vaccination certificate "does not protect against the virus and can falsely refer the doctor who takes care of you", he stressed.

It was the patient's husband who finally admitted that she was not vaccinated.

He was himself, but he had "struggled to convince his wife" to get vaccinated, said Dr Annane.

This case of false vaccination would not, according to him, be isolated: "We have at least one other patient without any antibody, who has a severe form and continues to say that he has been vaccinated".

"It is fundamental to assume until the end when deciding not to be vaccinated, because the knowledge by the doctor of this information can sometimes change the way in which one takes charge", he concluded. .
