The alleged assailant of Eric Zemmour was indicted for "willful violence with ITT (total incapacity for work) for more than eight days and placed under judicial control", said the Bobigny prosecutor's office on Thursday.

The man is accused of having slightly injured the candidate's wrist by grabbing him while crossing the crowd during his meeting on Sunday in Villepinte in Seine-Saint-Denis.

As soon as he exfiltrated, he was then arrested by the police.

The young man is also prohibited from leaving the country, from holding or carrying a weapon and from coming into contact with Eric Zemmour, said the prosecution.

Zemmour condemns "all violence"

In a parallel procedure linked to this political rally, the Bobigny public prosecutor's office also opened an investigation into the violence committed against SOS Racism activists who came to protest in the room against the candidate.

These two separate investigations were entrusted to the departmental security.

Eric Zemmour condemned Tuesday “all the violence” which disrupted his public meeting, while describing the militants of SOS Racism attacked as “provocateurs”.
